Dear Friend,

I was chosen as your State Representative for the 12th Plymouth District in November of 2006.
The opportunity to serve our citizens is an honor I excepted without hesitation and with much
excitement.

For many years I’ve been anxious for the chance to serve in the legislature and have worked
closely with my friend, Representative Tom O’Brien to prepare myself to deal with the
challenges facing the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. When Tom moved on to County
Treasurer, he endorsed me as his successor and assured me of a seamless transition.

As you know, we face many challenges and we need serious leaders in the legislature to deal
with them. A declining population and work force, lost industry, the cost of health care, rising
property taxes and the importance of public school education are only a few of the issues I am
focusing on.

We also have enormous opportunities in Massachusetts that need to be fully leveraged. I
believe that we can and should become a global leader in the development of renewable energy
technology and in stem cell research. Thanks in large part to you, we now have serious people
in the legislature who can convert good ideas into action. I assure you that I am working on
these very issues everyday with your best interest in mind. I have become a tireless advocate
for the 12th Plymouth district and will always be committed to serving its residents.

The purpose of this letter is to thank you for your support and ask that you continue to support
my efforts in service to the citizens of the 12th Plymouth District and the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts.

Unfortunalty, campaigns are expensive and State Rep's are required to stand for re-election
every two years. Therefore, I would be grateful for your financial support of my candidacy.
Campaign contributions can be accepted from individuals in amounts up to and including
$500.00 per year. Checks should be made out to The Committee to Elect Tom Calter and mailed
to PO Box 308 Kingston MA 02364.
